Born and raised in the Boston area, pianist Katherine Emma Liu (2022 Davidson Fellow) is a student in the Harvard University-New England Conservatory Dual Degree Program, where she is pursuing both her undergraduate degree from Harvard and Master of Music from NEC. Starting her musical journey at age 3, Katherine has since then appeared at venues across America and Europe, including a performance with the Boston Pops at Boston’s Symphony Hall under the baton of Keith Lockhart. She was also featured at the age of 9 on Boston’s WCRB 99.5 with host Cathy Fuller and appeared on NPR’s From the Top in 2016. Other projects coming out of Katherine’s work with From the Top include performances at the From the Top Gala and From the Top Soirée, as well as YouTube video productions such as “Star Wars Mashup'' and “Fantastic Musicians and Where to Find Them”.
