You are invited to a special tour of the historic Dangberg Home Ranch in Minden, Nevada on Saturday, May 9 at 11:00 a.m. Heinrich F. Dangberg, Sr. founded the ranch 170 years ago and it eventually encompassed over 33,000 acres of choice Nevada real estate. The event includes a guided tour of the family's ranch house, which started as a two-room cabin with the expansion designed by the famous Nevada architect, Frederic DeLongchamps. We will also be viewing the short documentary film Dangberg Home Ranch by Ivy+ member Gwendolyn Clancy, which features interviews with the last Dangberg family members to live on the ranch: Margaret McDonald and Ruth Achard (granddaughters of H.F. Dangberg) and Ruth's son, Steve Achard.
Bring your own picnic lunch and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Carson Valley (alcoholic beverages for adults are permitted). The cost for this event is $12 per person. Members of the Friends of Dangberg Home Ranch are free. This event is limited to 20 persons, so you must sign up in advance. No food or beverages will be provided by the Harvard Club but you are encouraged to bring your own.
